Clyde Custom Builders is a custom construction company based in Ashe County, North Carolina, specializing in thoughtfully designed homes that work with the landscape—not against it. Building in the mountains comes with unique challenges, and that’s where we excel.

Owner Michael Clyde Anthony has been building homes in the High Country for nearly his entire life. He began working alongside his father during school breaks and later transitioned to full-time construction after meeting his wife, Neva, at NC State in 2018. Growing up in the area gave Michael a deep understanding of mountain terrain, weather conditions, access limitations, and the practical realities of building on complex sites.

After several years of hands-on experience building with his father, Michael launched Clyde Custom Builders in January 2025. With a small but reliable crew of long-time employees, the company has already taken on multiple projects, including custom homes.

Despite his young age, Michael brings a wide range of experience and a growing depth of knowledge in building techniques and best practices, with particular attention to the challenges unique to High Country construction. His background includes drafting coursework, experience with ICF construction, and strong working relationships with trusted local subcontractors—allowing each project to be managed thoughtfully, efficiently, and with care.
